 - Praise Group -

We are a diverse bunch of singers and instrumentalists ranging in age from 10 to…..well… retired, and in musical ability from non-music readers to people with extensive musical experience. Despite all our differences we really enjoy each other’s company and the chance to learn and perform new music together.

Our main focus is on introducing contemporary music to the 9.45 am ‘Worship Now’ service, some of which we will sing by ourselves and some, with the congregation. There’s also always a topical "children’s song" which follows Story Time which everybody joins in with. Normally there’ll be anything between 10 and 20 singers, a couple of guitars, a keyboard and when we’re lucky some drums.

We meet for an hour on a Thursday evening at 8pm and then for a short 20-minute run through on Sunday before the service.

We are always keen to meet people who might be interested in joining us. Philip our leader, recognises that most people are unable to commit to coming every single Sunday (but the more the better obviously!) If you want to find out more or want to come and have a taster session just ask any of us on a Sunday or contact Philip by phone on (0131) 445 1847 or by e-mail.

The Praise Group are restarting Thursday rehearsals on 28th August at 8pm-9pm so if you enjoy singing , why not give it a try! We also meet on Sunday mornings at 9.15am for a short rehearsal before the “Worship Now” service.

We hope that you have managed to get a copy of the Praise group’s CD entitled “Come now is the time to worship”  priced £3.  Copies and details from Kenneth Barlee who produced the CD (contact via Church Office).
