 - Joining the Church -

New members to our church are always welcome and membership is encouraged - we aim to make the process of joining our church a simple, straightforward and rewarding experience..

Of course you don’t have to be a member to join in our normal church services or even the many activities based in our Church Centre. In practice taking part in these activities, or attending a service has provided an easy introduction to the church for many new members. We want people to feel that they really belong before taking the logical step of joining the church.

From time to time the Minister arranges new member’s classes, usually twice a year in Spring and Autumn, for those who might be interested in joining the church or simply finding out more about the Christian Church and church life generally.

The classes help us to explore together the questions that people often ask when considering membership - What difference does membership make? What is the purpose of the Church? What do Christians really believe? What will be expected of me if I decide to join the Church?

To take part in these classes you don’t have to have any great understanding of the bible or the church, and there are no ’tests’ to pass and everything is run on a friendly and informal way.

A leaflet with an outline of the course on membership with dates and times is available from the Church Office.

What if I am already a member of the church somewhere else? In that case joining Fairmilehead is simply a matter of getting what is called "A Certificate of Transference" from your previous church, usually by contacting the Minister or Roll Keeper but it may be simply a matter of calling or e mailing their Church Office.

We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you into the Fellowship of FPC.
